Matero Magic - New Star 70:78

New Star posted another win in Group H as they overcame Matero Magic 78-70 at the 2022 BAL Qualifiers. Trailing 14-20 at the end of the first period, New Star took control in the rest of the game. They replied with a 24-14 rally in the second quarter and closed the game with a final 25-15 surge.
Kenny Gasana (195-G-84, college: Boise St.) top-scored for the winners with 28 points and Guibert Nijimbere (186-PG-95) netted 15. Landry Ndikumana (198-F-95) and Alvaro Masa (202-SF-83, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points apiece in a win. Jaylen Leroy (190-G-97, college: Plymouth St.) replied with 14 points in a loss and Sylvester Samungumbe (94) brought 10.
